Cassel dans les Flandres
C like... Collegial
Surrounded by Chestnut trees, the Collegial Our-Lady of the Crypt, built at the XI century, one can see in the bottom of her bedside " Opus Spicatum " equipment of stones in fish-bones, as well as the sealed openings of Romance style, the oldest part of the building. She undergoes many vicissitudes, rebuilt on several occasions and transform in " hallekerque " of XVIème (Halle church: three about equal naves lengthened enough in width and height separated by columns supporting from the barrel vaults lambrized.) It shelters four retables, with the monumental elements. An organ with dresser of 1821. Its square tower seems to dominate the hillock of Cassel.
