The
legend of these guards of the city is not precise; indeed several accounts
exist. It could be a question: Of a couple of hero débonnaires
and builders who were of an exceptional size. A being come from the sea,
which builds with its hands various mounts on sand: Watten - Balenberg
- Cassel Mount - Mount of Cats. When it returned with his wife, the happy
Flemings, danced around them and still dance. Of ogre of a disproportionate
size which was a threat for the city. The inhabitants decided to put fine
at its days, made it dead drunk and buried it under the ground for not
which it awakes and does not start again its misdeeds. Under the Cassel
Mount would be buried Reuze Papa and under the Mount of Récollets
Reuze Maman. Whatever their legend, the giants of Cassel take care on
the city and its inhabitants since the Museum where they patiently wait
to come out. Their output is not possible that on Cassel for fear, if
they move away, they waste their singularity with the dangerous winds
of the outside. |
